June is National Homeownership Month. As a REALTOR® and homeowner, I know many benefits of homeownership. I witness people realizing these benefits every day.
The tangible asset of homeownership provides several financial benefits, including the ability to borrow, build wealth and achieve independence. In addition, homeownership offers social benefits, such as a sense of community, pride and belonging.
In June 2012, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack shared a blog post about Homeownership Month. In that article, he mentioned that nearly $60,000 in economic activity is created from the sale of each existing median-price home. And that’s not including the extra job-creating potential of a newly-built home.
This summer marks my fourth year as a REALTOR®. In recognition of Homeownership month and my own personal milestone in the business, I thought I’d share some statistics. I’m proud to have assisted in some way in the homeownership and wealth-building transactions of many individuals, couples and families in the past four years.
- Number of buyers assisted: 33
- Number of sellers assisted: 41
- Number of seniors (55 and older) assisted: 19
- Number of first-time home buyers assisted: 12
- Estates sold: 3
- Commercial property sold: 1
- Investment property transactions: 6
- Buyers represented in FSBO purchases: 3
- New construction clients: 2
- Total value of all transactions: $13,436,150.00
This is just the beginning. I love helping people realize their dreams of homeownership, whether buying their first home, finding their dream home or building wealth through investing in rental properties. I’m honored to have been a part of these transactions for my customers. I couldn’t have had this success without each of you. Thanks for believing in me.
