When you’re staging your home for sale there are different considerations to keep in mind depending on the season. This week’s Ruhl & Ruhl Realtors blog provides some great tips for home staging in the fall. Here are some of my favorites.
- Welcome visitors with a scent of fall. Think hot apple cider, pumpkin pie, and apple cinnamon spice. These scents can be accomplished with candles or by whipping up the real thing.
- Keep it cozy. In addition to adjusting the thermostat so the temperature inside is warm, you can create a feeling of warmth by displaying throws on your family room furniture or at the end of your beds.
- Let there be light. Fall often brings dark, dreary days. There is not as much natural light. Brighten things up by placing lamps in some of your dark corners.
- Don’t forget the outside. Remove or cut back withered plants and rake up leaves so your visitors can see the grass. Pick up a couple of pumpkins and a mum or two. Stay away from the skeletons, witches, cobwebs and other ghoulish decor. The goal is to make your home welcoming, not scary or even funny.
